Covid aware? More like Covid absolutley paranoid!

So anyway.

I got a lovely email asking if I did Covid aware massage, a curious turn of phrase but yes I do! It is more like Covid paranoid though!

We have been on a rollercoaster since March, and constantly having to update ourselves with what we can, and are not advised to do, so a client making a booking to come and visit me, is a big big deal. I don’t take it for granted when someone comes out of their home to come and visit me.

Travelling to an appointment to get out of pain is essential, and if someone is working from home, doing kids homework, possibly studying, running their household, or maybe in a caring role as well, then of course they are not going to be at all familiar with my work practices or when I got back to work.

Openness and integrity is really important, so thats why you can scroll through my Instagram feed and see pictures of my treatment room, and I also have a Covid 19 page on my website to read through what will happen when a client visits.

I have always had a deep love of the cleaning aisle in supermarkets and a couple of years ago, everyone a their dog was getting all Mrs Hinch so really, I’m in my happy place with Zoflora. It’s in my best interests to have the best cleaning protocols in place between clients, and my colleagues are exactly the same.

Consistency of good practice is super important, and now more than ever it’s so important to not lose sight of that. Thats why I review my risk assessments weekly, and I have even risk assessed eating my lunch. I also take my temperature daily and log it, as well as opening up the trace and protect app on my phone to double check it. This is a new thing, I can’t help having a wee swatch around and see how many other people have downloaded it too.

If you are a prospective client reading this, looking to make an appointment, big thing you should know is to wear a face covering when you arrive at The Glasgow Treatment Rooms, and also to make sure it’s a face covering that you can keep on throughout your treatment. I wear a face covering too, and a visor.

I also have an air purifier in my room (as do my colleagues) Ventilation is the first line of defence, then a face covering, then regular hand washing.

I don’t one bit wearing a face covering all day at work because I invested in ones that are super comfy. I am surprised my skin hasn’t broken out, but I am a fan of a double cleanse which I suspect helps a lot. My only challenge with the face covering and the visor is having a menopausal hot flush wearing it all.

I think being realistic, we have a few more months of the Covid 19 virus being literally in our faces, but to be honest, I was chatting with a client the other day about this, and when in the future, it is deemed that we don’t need to wear a face covering and clients are able to have the choice instead of it being mandatory, I will most likely continue wearing one. Who knows what will happen!

What a year.

It will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, it’s not the end.

Please get in touch if you have any health and safety questions you’d like my to address. Nae bother.

Onward!
